Preparing your records before your final working day makes it easier to review your settlement and spot items that need clarification.
Gather the key records
Keep copies of your signed contract, salary breakdown, recent payslips, leave records, resignation or termination correspondence, and written confirmation of your last working day. Store them securely and avoid sharing sensitive documents with unverified services.
List each possible settlement component
- Salary due up to the agreed final working day.
- Unused leave and any payment applicable to your circumstances.
- Traditional gratuity or the benefits from the end-of-service arrangement covering you.
- Outstanding approved expenses or other contractual amounts.
- Any notice-related amount or proposed deduction requiring explanation.
Not every item applies to every employee. Request an itemised statement showing the basis for each amount rather than treating a single total as sufficient.
Check the gratuity inputs
Confirm your basic salary, employment dates and unpaid absence with payroll. Use our gratuity estimator only if your employment falls within its stated scope. A calculator estimate does not replace the employer’s full settlement breakdown.
Keep employment and residence steps separate
Confirm who handles work-permit cancellation or transfer and check your residence position with the responsible authority. Do not assume that finishing a notice period automatically completes the immigration process.
Resolve questions in writing
- Compare the proposed settlement with your records.
- Identify the specific line item that needs explanation.
- Ask HR or payroll for the supporting calculation.
- Keep their written response and payment confirmation.
- If a dispute remains, contact the authority responsible for your employment regime or seek qualified advice promptly.
